Yup, Pokémon can have some ridiculous situations at times.

Earlier today, I was playing on Yellow on my GBC, and was locked in a battle for ages. It was my Bulbasaur vs a Poliwhirl, which should have been an easy win, except that the Poliwhirl knew Hypnosis, so I turn after turn asleep, taking 2 dmg each turn from Poliwhirl's Bubble which is weak against grass. I eventually managed to get a Leech Seed in before being sent to sleep once again, which meant that after every 2hp Poliwhirl took from me, I stole 2hp back from it. Eventually Bulbasaur woke up for long enough to use Vine Whip, which was pretty much and instakill due to the type advantage.
But yeah, I must have spent at least 5 mins there just hitting (A) in the hope that I'd wake up and actually hit the damn thing once...

Dont get me started on the bullshit this game pulls.

running through the leet four, all pokemons dead, Im on my last poke :clefable. he's on his last poke: dragonite. Im 5 levels above, not offensive attacks except metranome.

Im at full health hes at mabye a 5th.

Is it sad that I completed Pokemon gold 5 times? 4 times normal... one using nothing but a ratatat?

I want to try it using the Rocket setup (Weezing, Arbok, Meowth) and see how far that gets me.
Ash's setup would be easier, although he seems to have 8 Pokémon on hand during the Pokémon League in the TV series...

I haven't played pokemon in ages, but I'm pretty sure the aim of the game is to train up your starting pokemon and catch other that are all shit and then up with one super powerful pokemon at the end

youknow what? I once tried to train all my caught pokemon to lvl over 30 still have that save, total timewaster.

I had like 6 Pokemon's on lvl 99... (max) on my gameboy color.

There was no excuse not to have your entire main party lvl 100

Red/Blue = rare candy in 7th slot, find missingno, PROFFIT!

Gold/Silver = Put masterball/rare candy onto pokemon, move pokemon from one box to another, TURN OFF WHILST SAVING , Profit

Me? I was lucky enough for someone to trade me a duped Mew in gold. I got it to lvl 100 and taught it Mega Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch and Thunder Punch, and it could run the Pokemon League on its own I actually went on a mission to get all 251 pokemon into the hall of fame by having them in my party as I tanked it with Mew, but of course I never got all 251. was pretty lol seeing catterpie, metapod, weedle and kakuna in the same party in the hall of fame though

I tried playing Gold again fairly recently and have never been sadder than when I found out it erased itself.

Dya know, I could probably deal with golbats and zubats, just grinding them normally.

But that FUCKING confuse ray, shit got annoying.
Oh and nothing beats my master stratedgy FOR ALL GAMES, and Ive beaten Red, Yellow, Gold and Pearl with this strategy:

1. Choose the water starter
2. Do not catch any other pokemon
3. Do not run from any battle, even if there like lv2
4. ?????
5. Have a lv70 starter by the 7th gym

I used to think you were cool, sir.

I've actually got (in the order I got them) Yellow, Blue, Silver, Gold, and Crystal.
However, I've never played any other than Yellow more than once.
Gen I > all subsequent generations, and Yellow lets you get all 3 starters, plus you have a Pikachu which follows you around! ^^
I actually refrain from using the Bike when moving around within Cities just so I can have Pikachu following me and to listen to music that isn't the Bike theme.



Also, trainer-owned Ratatta are the single most annoying Pokémon in the game. You go into battle and see Ratatta, and you go "oh, it's only a Ratatta. This'll be easy".


Then it one-shots you with motherfucking Hyper Fang. ¬¬

I heard there was some kind of plug-in (hardware) for your GB color (and alike) wich allowed u to change the pokemon following u in yellow and shit like that (think it was called a brainboy or something , don't remember)

I need to know if this thing still exists xD

This sounds really sad, and I have never told anybody this before, but I used to have a big bedroom when I was little and my sofa was in a corner, thus creating a little triangular space behind it. I decided to make this space my pokemon shrine, I put up my posters in the space and blutacked lots of pokemon pictured to the back of the sofa, I kept my box of pokemon cards behind there and all my figures where stored there. I used to go in it to play pokemon and sit and be peaceful. I also used to take my gameboy anywhere with me, just in case I meet some stranger who wants to trade or battle (it never happend though)
